Let’s use an example, of what No-Flat costs, VS What ‘Flat Tires’ Cost:
Now What did Flat Tires “Cost” me, In Just One, year ?
Let’s start in Jan, it snowed the night before, up before dawn to clean out the driveway, snow blower started just fine, but one tire a little low, thought it was just the cold temp., put some air in, but with the cold, (-10), and whatever was in that tire, it just would not stay round, took twice as long to clean the driveway because of trying to ‘push’ the snow blower, rather than let it self propel. After I was done, took off tire, (20 min. of mucking with frozen parts) Took to the shop, ($7.75) Repair, took home, put back on. Cost: Out Of Pocket money, $7.75, Time ? 1 + hour (at -10)
Early March, driving the Wife’s Geo Tracker, going to visit In Laws Sunday afternoon, Nice day, sunny, snow & slush melting, enjoying the drive. Suddenly, Tracker starts pulling to left, harder, harder, drove off on the right shoulder of the freeway, left rear tire flat. OK, Change it, next to traffic, getting ‘sloshed’, grateful I was driving when the flat happened, rather than that happening to my wife, when she was alone. Cost to fix tire next day, ($17.50) Cost in time?, that day 1 hour late, and wet and dirty, Next day 1/2 hour to switch tires back, and clean out frozen slush so the spare could go back properly. Total Time 1-1/2 hour.
April, Perfect dry Spring Sunday. Time to clean up the lawn. Get out the lawn tractor, and the small lawn wagon, both tires on wagon flat, and one front tire on lawn tractor flat, normal for sitting all winter. Aired them up, and ready to get some yard work done that day. Only, had to stop, and air up the tires 4 times that day, because they would Not stay up. Yard cleaning took much longer that it should have because of constantaly airing up tires. End of day, took the three tires off, and took them to the shop the next morning. Repair on the two wagon tires, 5.00 each, (10.00) and the front tire, on the lawn tractor was shot, to many cracks in the sidewall, due to to many times sitting over winter flat! Cost: Repair two wagon tires, 10.00, New lawn tractor tire, 35.00 Time ? +/- 3 hours more, due to extra time filling up tires, and taking off and putting on.
May, fishing trip up north, myself and a buddy, everthing is all checked and ready to go, leave early for a 3 hour drive, stop 2 hours away from home for breakfast, come out of the resturant, Flat Tire on the truck. Two of us, in the parking lot, take No Time at all to change the tire, But, want the tire fixed, so there is a spare. Find a local gas station, have the tire fixed, cost 30.00. Outragous, but what ya gonna do, they had me over the barrel! Cost, out of pocket $30.00, time, +/- 15 min.
Early September, out with the Jeep, checking out the Duck Hunting spots, a bit muddy, driving fast over some slop, but hey, this is a C-J Jeep ! Coming out of the low ground, on the farmers black dirt field road, which is a little greasy due to the rain, but solid, jeep starts pulling, I stop, sure enough, a front tire flat, must have been those prickly Ash I drove over. No Spare with, (gee I was only four miles from home). Walk 1/2 mile to the farmers house, ask for a ride back home, listen to the farmer, (who I have known for 20 years) give me grief for having a flat tire, Get in the F-150, go back, take off the tire, get it fixed, ($17.50), stop by the junkyard to pick up a used spare tire and rim, (which I have been Meaning to do!) drive back, put them on the Jeep, drive home, wait for the wife to come home from work so she can drive me back to pick up Jeep. Cost: ($17.50) repair, (not going to count the cost of the Spare purchased, should have had that) Time ? 1/2 a Day !
Beautiful Crisp October day, time to split some wood, for next year, Both tires on log splitter flat in the shed, (normal for sitting for a year), air them up, run the splitter on the utility trailer, run them out to the woods, unload the splitter. Cut and split wood, fill up the trailer with wood, after trailer is un loaded, notice flat tire, air it up, run out to woods again, fill up the trailer again, run it home, un load, tire is very low, again. Ok stop, take off tire have fixed, ($12.50), put it back on, run out to the woods again, to pick up splitter, Yuppers, both tires flat, had to struggle to put it on the trailer. Get it home, take off tires, had them both fixed, 5.00 each, ($10.00) Out of Pocket for that day ($22.50) Time ? 1/2 a day again in lost time!
That was the straw that broke the camels back! My total, (Out Of Pocket) cost of tire repair was: $140.00 My Total Time ? Several Days, Total !!! To Much ! I started Looking for a way to ‘Prevent” flat tires. I found a product, (not going to tell you the name), BUT, It did NOT work !!!! It Did NOT last !, It Rusted the Rims ! It had NO Shelf Life! It threw the high speed tires Out Of Balance It would seperate in the trailer tires, used for just part of a year. It Simply Did NOT work !!!
Then I Found: No-Flat And, It, Works !!!!!!!!
I added up the ounce’s I needed in all my tires, and the cost was less than ONE YEAR, of my flat tire, fixing costs. Just the fixing cost, Not counting all the time and aggravation I would have saved by NOT having a flat tire.
It was a no brainer. The No-Flat is in!
